Shoreham WordFest Friday 26 September 2014

The band have a track record of performing with poets over the past few years including Franklin D. Reeve, Rommi Smith and Anjan Saha. We are delighted to announce that John Harvey has invited the band (with Phil Paton on saxes) to accompany his cool poetry at this great spoken word festival in September.

Hove poet and writer, Lee Harwood will also be reading that night and the band will be accompanying him on some of his work.

New quartet gigs added for 2014

The trio with Phil Paton on sax, will be playing Saltdean Lido, Brighton on Friday 19 September and a return to the Hare and Hounds Pub in Worthing on Tuesday 14 October. The Saltdean gig will have Antoine Olivier on double and electric bass.

If you haven't seen the group in 2014 - there's loads of  new material added to the set including originals by John Lake and covers of music by Chick Corea, Michel Camilo, Hiromi and the Yellowjackets. As a quartet the music is more electric than the trio gigs and comes bursting with energy and rhythmic invention e.g. "Blues at 7", "Vice Versa" as well as a new ballad entitled  "When You Put Your Hand in Mine".

Trio gig at the Unitarian Church, Brighton

Next gig for the trio following the Brighton Fringe Festival performance will be a short lunchtime gig at the Unitarian Church, New Road Brighton on Friday 18 July at 12.30pm. It will be an acoustic set which will include recent material by John Lake and two pieces by Michel Camilo and Hiromi.
