Gig in Odense Music Library, Denmark

The band performed their first international gig as a trio on Thursday 28 November at the newly re-furbished Music Library in Odense, Denmark.

The band greatly enjoyed the excellent facilities provided in library, particularly the beautiful Steinway piano and the wonderfully appreciative audience.

All the tracks from the CD Up on the Downs were performed alongside side new original numbers introduced since the band started working together in 2012, including Zero Sum Game, Wave of Translation and Josie's Tune.

We'd like to thank Kent Skov and his staff for the booking and for looking after us so considerately.

More gig dates in 2014

The trio are booked at the Hare and Hounds Pub in Worthing with Phil Paton on saxes on Tuesday 28 January 2014. The pub has a great atmosphere with regular jazz gigs - be there at at 8.00pm to get a good seat because its a cosy venue.

The trio will be playing with singer Jackie Sampson at the Crowborough Constitutional Club on Saturday 15 March. This is a return gig which we have enjoyed over the last 3 years and always gets a good reception, Members only!

A new gig date on Friday 18 July at 12.30 in the Unitarian Church, Brighton has been confirmed. This great little venue programmes regular Friday lunchtime concerts from classical to jazz. This should be a really nice way to spend a Friday lunchtime so hope you can join us if you are in the area.

Album Launch: The Verdict

For the launch of the band's debut album, Up On the Downs, held at The Verdict Jazz Cafe in Brighton, the trio were joined by long-time collaborator Phil Paton, on tenor and alto sax. Playing a selection of tunes from the album, along with interpretations of standards by The Yellowjackets, Pat Metheny and Thelonius Monk. A good turnout and a lovely venue made for an intimate and energetic gig, and some very blue notes.
